Summer Schools – Overview

 

While exciting holidays for children aged from 7 to 17 year in summer schools in England, together with regular English classes your child will also socialize with peers, making a lot of new friends and getting unforgettable experience.

All summer schools are members of English UK and offer courses, which are inspected and accredited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and/or by the British Council. This accreditation guarantees the quality, safety and the optimal combination of studies and leisure. All programmes are full of sports, entertainment and sightseeing activities. All this helps to improve English knowledge, while getting new impressions, trying new activities and meeting new friends.

Students are usually divided into groups according to their age, level of language knowledge, and sometimes interests and hobbies. All teachers at summer schools are experienced and certified specialists in teaching English as a foreign language. All students of the summer programs are under constant supervision of the teachers, educators and organizers of leisure. The lessons are mainly concentrated on the development of speaking and listening skills.

Most summer schools are located on the territory of English private schools and the accommodation is arranged at the residence of the school where the children live together with educators, enabling round the clock monitoring of the children and providing security. Some summer schools in England offer homestay in British families, where children can be acquainted with the life of English families and for more opportunity to practice the language with native speakers. Both in residences and the families the students are given three meals a day. Bed linen is changed at least once every two weeks. There are many classes of interest and entertainment offered after classes every day. Once or twice a week, the students have a day tour to one of the UK cities, and two or three half-day tours.

The cost of all sports and recreational activities, excursions and entrance fees to museums included in the program, though some programs offer activities that have to be extra paid. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the school can be charged additionally, depending on the chosen school, and your own preferences.
